Religious Institutions
The use of
cellular phones is prohibited in most religious institutions
because religious services are disrupted by the use of
cellular phones.
The Company’s
early concentration on religious institutions will be in the
Middle East. For
Islam, as for many other religions, prayer is a solemn
occasion. A
mosque should provide a peaceful environment for prayer,
allowing attendees to devote complete and undivided attention
to Allah. Conducting
business or social discourse over a cellular phone destroys
this environment. So
too, a ringing cellular phone destroys this environment.
Although it may be
considered by some to be an etiquette problem, to others,
these disruptions to prayer are unholy and may be considered
the same as “sin” is considered by Christians.
To remove this pain at a reasonable cost and without
adverse side effects is a key element of the demand in the
Arab world, where traditional jamming devices are deployed
today. Additional demand exists in all parts of the world from
almost all religions.
Jamming is chosen today by
religious institutions because it is the only technology
available. From
market research we have found that it is almost universally
disliked and will be replaced in many instances when the
Cell-Block-R technology becomes available – because of the
removal of the negatives associated with jamming.

Cinema and Live Theater
Theater owners are spending more money to improve the quality
of service received at their establishments, while the volume
of ringing cellular phones at performances continues to
increase, countering the owner’s efforts.
New York City passed an ordinance banning cellular phones in
theaters but with little or no way of enforcement.
Cell-Block-R Control Units can resolve these problems
at minimal expense.
In general terms,
the cost to install the Cell-Block-R technology should not
exceed the equivalent of a single showing of a major film
in that space – making the Cell-Block-R products extremely
cost-effective.
Restaurants
Cellular phone restricted areas
appeal to the upper-end of restaurants where diners are paying
a significant amount of money for a “special dining
experience.” As
the need continues to grow and as awareness of the capability
grows, the restaurant market will extend downwards (i.e. to
lower priced restaurants) and expand dramatically.
In Europe, there
are approximately twice the number of restaurants as in the
USA, and a much stronger base of pain from diners. It should be noted that in the USA most people go out to
eat at a restaurant, while in Europe people go to dine
at a restaurant. They
take it much more seriously in Europe.
Although the Restaurant
market segment exists worldwide it will be largest in Europe,
followed by the United States.
In the rest of the world it is expected to be of a
secondary focus. |
