Cell Phones or "Mobile Phones" have had a
dramatic impact on our daily communication patterns. The
technology is convenient and people all over the world enjoy
the benefits of instant communication.
Restricted
Areas - there are many situations in which cell phone usage presents certain
challenges.
There are annoying cell phone conversations at nearby
tables in restaurants. Stage performers complain that cell
phones interrupt performances and cell phones often interrupt
religious services and school classrooms.
Students have used cell phones to cheat on exams by passing
information to each other.
Statistics show that the distraction of driving while using
a cell phone can be more hazardous than driving under the
influence of alcohol.
The electronic emissions from cell phones can be
problematic for those who rely on the perfect functioning of
sensitive electronic devices. Airplanes and hospitals are
examples of sensitive areas where cell phone usage is
prohibited, and yet many people ignore the prohibition.
Many of the aforementioned situations already consider
themselves "cell free" environments. There are signs
as you enter that inform you that cell phones should be turned
off upon entering. Their use is not illegal, just unwanted.
Unfortunately, many people do not adhere to rules that are
inconvenient…until breaking the rule becomes a punishable
offense.
Automobiles
- Most American states, many cities, and even more countries
have banned the use of cell phones while driving
automobiles. Statistics show this to be more dangerous
than driving drunk. Without the Cell-Block-R technology,
there is no existing way to enforce these bans except for
